Initial Offering: The first time an asset is being offered as an investment on Mars.
IPO: Short for "initial public offering," this term is used when shares of an artist first become available to the public or on Mars.
Pending Investment: A share purchase that has been placed or reserved but not yet finalized. You can monitor it in your account.
Private Placement: A private placement is an offering of unregistered securities to a limited pool of investors. In a private placement, Mars sells shares of stock of an artist. There are two varieties available on Mars.
Regulation A ("Mini IPO"): Offerings that are available to the general public or non-accredited investors. This type of offering is subject to some limitations, including non-accredited individuals' investments cannot exceed 10% of their income or net worth.
Regulation D (Accredited Only): Offerings are only available to accredited investors. Accredited investors are categorized as investors with an income of $200,000 ($300,000 if filing jointly) or a net worth of $1 million or more, excluding primary residence.
Net Asset Value (NAV)- The calculation of an artist's total assets minus total liabilities divided by outstanding shares. This value can change daily with the variability of assets based on market value.
